Little Tybee with Shoot Down the Moon + MIGO
Mad Planet
$7, 21+, 9 pm

Little Tybee is a 6 piece band based in Atlanta, GA whose music has been described as genre bending and refreshing to both veteran and exploring ears. The core of each of their songs begins in the relentless and creative mind of vocalist/guitarist/pianist Brock Scott. The songs mature through the dedicated musicianship of 8-string guitarist Josh Martin, violinist Nirvana Kelly, bassist Ryan Donald, and percussionist Pat Brooks. Little Tybee isn’t afraid to experiment freely, even dangerously at times, to follow a musical idea to its ultimate end. This mentality has led the group to explore music that transcends genre and packs a much bigger punch than their modest title implies. Over the past few years they have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with Of Montreal, Kurt Vile, Macy Gray, Reptar, Sondre Lerche, Nicole Atkins, Man Man, Kishi Bashi, and a number of others. Notable performances included SXSW, CMJ, NXNE, Pop Montreal, Rombello Cruise, Hillstock Festival, and Multiverse Playground.

Shoot Down the Moon has been playing in Milwaukee for over a decade. In the words of the now-defunct A.V. Club Milwaukee's Cal Roach, Shoot Down the Moon " sounds polished and assured in its style, which blends elements of funk, folk, and country into a neo-classic rock mélange that undeniably suggests 'jam band.'" They played a show with Conor Oberst in Omaha. That's pretty cool.

Since they formed in the summer of 2013, MIGO has been spreading a noisy gospel from basements to bars all over the greater Milwaukee area. Members Sam Kirchoff, Jake Marin, and Brian Kennedy incorporate accelerated atypical rhythms with jazz infused punk melodies to pave a meandering patchwork for the spoken word ramblings of frontman Jay Joslyn.
